Potomac Regional VMUG Review

Thanks to everyone who joined us for the Potomac VMUG. This was the regional VMUG for Washington D.C. and Maryland, and demonstrate how strong both user groups are. The VMUG members and volunteers put on a fantastic show in an amazing location. It’s also nice to see the the VMUG organization is really flourishing and has more than 75,000 member today.

Sydney (AU) hosts the largest virtualization forum in APAC region; actually it should be called VMworld Asia Pacific for its size.

I also have mentioned before…

Australia is the most virtualized country in the world, per capita, according to Paul Maritz, VMware CEO, during his keynote for the vForum’08 and reinforced by Dr. Steve Herrod, VMware CTO, during vForum’09.

Oracle and MySQL VMUG (Virtualize it!)

Friday, 29th of January, I will be presenting a session about virtualization at the Oracle & MySQL Sydney User meet up. This is their version of our VMUGs.

Virtualization has been voted by Sydney database users as the most interesting subject to be discussed on the first Meet Up of the year, so I am assuming that a cultural change at the database world has begun and is slowly gaining terrain.
