Why Datrium DVX is Best for VDI – by Simon Long and André Leibovici

I have written in the past about how awesome Datrium DVX is for VDI, and how it removes numerous challenges in deploying and scaling solutions in single or multi-datacenter rollouts.

Most HCI vendors are continuously claiming to solve VDI challenges, but they are regularly focused on the day-one rollout – not the problems to operate VDI environment in the long run.

There are simple things to consider, like being able to add extra servers without the need to add storage, easy scalability to thousands of users, or just being able to replicate independent application layers across multi-datacenter deployments.

Simon Long and I decided to put this discussion to bed, creating an exposé document that highlights the advantages of Datrium over SAN and legacy HCI solutions.

For those that don’t know, I used to be part of the VMware Horizon View architecture team, and Simon was the architect responsible for VMware’s private VDI to all VMware employees.

You don’t have to follow our recommendations, but at least donate a few minutes to understand what we have to say about the challenges of running day-two VDI.
