VDI Flash Calculator v1.5 released – major release

I have just uploaded the new release of my online VDI Flash Calculator. Few times I have been asked why the calculator does not represent exactly what was being consumed from storage. So far the answer has been -  there are other factor that may influence storage consumption such as VM memory reservation and the use of dedicated datastores with View 4.5. This release is focused on answering those questions and providing a very approximate figure of storage consumption.

Additionally, I have added support the important support for running clusters with HA capacity (N+1). I also have added other bits and pieces.

Release 1.5
– Added support for Dedicated Datastore for Replicas (SSD)
– Added support for use of VM memory reservation
– Added support for Cluster with HA (N+1)
– Added information on number of clusters required
– Fixed bug with overcommitment memory calculation

The VDI calculator can be found at http://myvirtualcloud.net/?page_id=1076. Alternatively, go to my blog homepage and select VDI Calculator.
