  1. Hi there, looks like I’m facing the same issue. Let me look at it in the next 12h. Appreciate you patience.

    • Christian on 12/01/2016 at 12:00 pm

Hi, i’m having the same problem, any update ?

  2. Hello, The VDI Calculator is UP again. Sorry about the downtime. The issue was caused by CDN caching & firewall config issues, aka User Error 🙂

    • AM on 12/04/2016 at 6:38 am

Unfortunately, still no luck getting the tool to run. I get the bellow error. I tried on three different machines, same issue.

  3. Same for me. Get the error that the resource could not be loaded. Maybe there is a broken link to the server? 4 weeks ago, I could run the tool without any problem. Just made a java security exception for http://myvirtualcloud.net

  4. Since today, it’s working again. What ever you made, thx! 😉
Btw, you did an amazing job with this calculator!

    • Ted on 12/06/2016 at 10:53 am

Is this down again? I continue to get the resource could not be loaded. I’m using Java 8 u111. Tested on 3 different systems with the same result.

    • Yolgezer on 12/08/2016 at 7:24 am

    It isn’t working…

  5. @Daniel, please try cleaning your Java and Browser caching. Let me know the outcome.

    • Yolgezer on 12/11/2016 at 1:41 am

Checked in this morning, Vdi Calculator is still not working. Unable to download the V.0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar. Never really had a problem with the tool until now. Cleaned out java entirely, issue persists. Great tool. Any pointers on this one? Thx.

    • Alex D on 12/15/2016 at 7:27 am

Ok for some reason I now needed to add this explicit entry into the Java Exception list. http://myvirtualcloud.net/webstart/vdi_calculator/vdi_calculator.jnlp All is good, the VDI Calculator is running fine.

  7. Hi Everybody, I’m so sorry about the issues to run the calculator. The problem was in CloudFlare, the caching solution I use to make the website faster. I have yesterday entered the com.myvirtualcloud.vdicalc__V0.0.1-SNAPSHOT.jar into the caching rules and it won’t be trying to cache anymore. I have now successfully ran the calculator in my computer. Could you please also test it again and if you have any issues please let me know. Please note that you must enter the website url (http://myvirtualcloud.net) into the Java security exclusion list. Additionally, if you are running OSx Sierra you will need to allow Apple unsigned apps in Security & Privacy. Thanks!

    • Troy Thompson on 01/16/2017 at 7:05 am

Still having the same issue today.

It looks like the http://myvirtualcloud.net/webstart/vdi_calculator/ directory just dumps to a http://www.justhost.com page.

I suspect that there are CDN issues again.

  10. ** Application Expired **

    Any guess why??

    • Tanakiat Waradetjumroen on 02/09/2017 at 1:17 am

    same expire

  11. Folks, I am really sorry about the delay to fix this issue. I had to create a new domain for the VDI Calculator and also re-compile the application with new signatures. Please, make sure you now have Java 1.7 installed and also add the domain http://vdicalculator.net to Exception Site List in Java Control Panel. It should be all good now!! Let me know.

btw – the Application Expired issue was also solved.

    -Andre

    • Alex D. on 02/15/2017 at 7:47 am

Works now after the exception (you mentioned – http://vdicalculator.net) was added to my Java 1.8.0_121 version. Thanks Andre!

    • Marcel on 05/22/2017 at 11:00 am

Hi Andre, I am getting expired version notifications. is 7.1 the most updated version?

  12. Hi There, the VDI Calculator expiration issue has been fixed. Have Fun!

    • Prashant Rangi on 05/24/2017 at 9:25 pm

Hello Andre, As we come across many use cases of RDSH. Do you have any plan to add RDSH Sizing calculator as well? Also any plan to include Profile & User Data IOPS to be included in Sizing.

  13. @Prashant that would be a great addition. Are you bale to come up with a sizing model for RDSH? On Profiles and User Data that a tricky one, but I guess we could at least add profile sizes.

    • Prashant Rangi on 05/27/2017 at 2:03 am

Thanks for the reply Andre. Yes, I hope adding RDSH Sizing model be great help for administrators looking for Sizing for task workers. VMWARE itself adding lot of new features specially in RUSH. Recently they come up with Horizon Apps in 7.1. Adding profile will help in storage Sizing to the administrators. At present VDI calculator is limited to Connection Server, Security Server & vCenter. Adding AAP Volumes, crops, instant clones can surely be an added advantage.

    • Yo on 08/09/2017 at 7:50 pm

Hi Andre, I have issue with Application Expired

  14. @Yo You should be able to auto-update with the current version. If not, please clear your java application using the Java Console and download the jnpl file again.

    • Boss on 08/15/2017 at 11:20 am

Hi Andre, I have a same error “Application Expired” and i use java jre-8u144-windows-i586.

  15. @boss you also need to clear the Java cache, you are probably running the old version.

    • Yo on 08/15/2017 at 7:19 pm

I already clear java cache but it still expired.

    • Yo on 08/28/2017 at 9:59 pm

Anyone have same problem as me ?
How should I do ? I already clear java cache and update java to java jre-8u144-windows-i586.
or I should use older version of java ?

    • Randall Wood on 12/18/2017 at 12:24 pm

I am getting an error ‘Your security settings have blocked an application from running due to missing a “Permissions” manifest attribute in the main jar.’

Your guide includes a link to https://www.java.com/en/download/help/java_blocked.xml to override this error. The instructions at that site state the solution is “Contact the developer or publisher of this application and let them know about the application being blocked.” Will you please fix this problem following the links in that solution?

    • Wayne on 02/13/2018 at 1:53 pm

    Same error as Randall above.

    • Erick on 07/20/2018 at 1:52 pm

Is this tool still valid and working on Windows 10/ java version 1.8.0_181 and latest chrome and/or firefox? for me, the error is:
    “C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre1.8.0_181\bin\java.exe” “vdi_calculator.jnlp”
Error: Could not find or load main class vdi_calculator.jnlp

  16. Erick, I have just tested with the latest Java version and it seems to work fine. Try updating your java and adding the app to the Java exceptions.

    • Davide on 10/11/2018 at 7:56 am

For all those who have problems with java. VDI calculator works for sure with java 1.7.0_51 version

    • Jevaughn on 01/11/2019 at 5:17 am

Unable to use your tool, keep getting a “Bad installation. No JRE found in configuration file”

Your site exception already added to Java Security.

    Any ideas?

    • Jevaughn on 01/11/2019 at 6:23 am

Upgraded my Java version and it works flawlessly
