If you are near Kansas City region make sure you attend the KS VMUG User Conference. The event is happening on Tuesday, November 5, 2013. This is a huge VMUG – a mini VMworld with almost 1,000 attendees.
The VMUG is filled with sessions from well-known community members, partners, and the afternoon keynoted will be presented by VMware’s Paul Strong, CTO of Global Field. The morning keynote with Nolan Bushnell on Innovation and The Future of Technology and Gaming also seem to be very interesting; specially for a recovering gamer like me.
I am also presenting couple sessions:
- Directions in EUC and the Multi-Device Workspace
Join me and learn about VMware’s vision and directions for the future and the myriad of industry developments informing it. Multiple devices, “XaaS” platforms, mobile, Bring Your Own Device, Cloud computing, and next generation applications are combining to a profound effect on user expectations and IT. Learn about VMware’s latest offerings and technical innovations for this world – the Horizon Suite of products including Horizon Workspace, Horizon View and Horizon Mirage.
- Architecting Horizon View for Enterprise
In this session you’ll learn deep technical insights of the VMware Horizon View 5.2 and 5.3 Reference Architecture – a validated virtual desktop solution for hosted virtual desktops. Horizon View introduced many new features such as Content-Based Read Cache (CBRC), SE Sparse disks, 10,000 desktops per vCenter Server, 3D Software and Hardware rendering– and more. In this session I will cover the caveats and recommended practices to put all this technology to work in your favor and improve end-use experience.
So many things have changed with the latest VMware Horizon View release; specially around system’s architecture. In this session I will explain how to architect and use many of these new features, and also uncover major pitfalls that should be avoided when architecting Horizon View solutions. I Highly recommend this session for Consultants and Architects involved with VMware Horizon View solutions. It will be like ‘drinking from the hose’.
