For me this has been a year of many changes, challenges and opportunities. Early in the year decided I accepted an offer to help to shape the future of End User Computing by working for VMware as an architect in the Office of the CTO.
I get to talk to customers, partners and spend time in the lab sharpening and brushing my IT skills. I also get to spend cycles working on cool and exciting prototypes. VMware let me to be part of interesting and challenging projects and I really enjoy it.
I presented at VMworld US and EMEA and I also had a chance to speak at VMUGs and conferences. I also was able to dedicate some time to go after certifications like VCA5-DT and VCP5-DT.
I tried to keep my blogging at steady level and managed to push out over 110 articles – some of them of a great deal IMO. Every day I find more and more that sharing is only expanding my horizons, and I really enjoy doing it.
Hard to pick but IMO here are my Top 5 articles for the year:
Why use <Insert Vendor Here> storage for VDI?
Understanding CBRC (Content Based Read Cache)
How to Access Windows 8 CP via PCoIP with VMware View
What’s New in VMware View 5.1 (Beyond Marketing)
DaaS Identity Management, Federation & Multi-Tenancy
…could not choose only 5…three more.
Space-Efficient Sparse Virtual Disks and VMware View
Multiple View Composer Servers against single vCenter
View Storage Accelerator and View Storage Tiering [Unsupported]
I hope you enjoyed reading my articles as much as I did writing them for you. As we close the year I wish us all a relaxing and invigorating passage. I will be back in 2013 with renovated energy for another round of EUC, VDI, Virtualization etc. Thank you all!
Ha! Almost forgot…. I hope you enjoyed the new blog theme!
