If you missed out on VMworld 2010 and won’t be able to attend VMworld Europe 2010 don’t forget that we have our very own virtualisation forum in Sydney, Australia. Not as big as the parent events but VMware is forecasting 6000+ people over 2 days.

The good news this year is that I will be presenting this year and as usual my topic will cover  VDI and VMware View. Perhaps, also storage and View Composer. There will also be a VMware View Experts panel hosted by David Wakeman, Kevin Middleton, Jeff O’Connor and myself. Don’t miss out on this one!

Time: 16:00 – 16:40
VMware View Composer: Technical Deep Dive with Tiered storage
Speaker: Andre Leibovici, Senior Consultant – Desktop, PSO, VMware Australia/ New Zealand
Abstract: View Composer is one of the most powerful and useful features of VMware View facilitating rapid provisioning, elegant desktop updating and patching while enabling significant savings on Storage Area Network (SAN) disk space. This in-depth technical session will provide a deep dive on the newest features, peel back the architecture and provide tips, tricks, troubleshooting, and strategies for getting the most out of View Composer. This session will also explore best practices around storage best practices, application management and day to day operations.

Time: 15:10 – 15:50
Experts Exchange: Desktop Virtualization Panel discussion
Abstract: Join in for an open panel discussion with our View virtualization experts, between our guest presenters they have deployed and managed tens of thousands of desktops. This session is your opportunity to ask questions on View, architecture, design, application packaging, new features and more. It promises to be an informative and lively discussion so come armed with your questions.
